Mary Washington Earns 2003-04 All-Sports

Mary Washington College captured the 2003-2004 Capital Athletic Conference
All-Sports Trophy signifying the outstanding “total” athletic program
in the CAC. Mary Washington’s win is their third straight and their tenth
trophy in the 13-year history of the award. The finally tally saw the Eagles
outdistance Salisbury by 13.8 points as they accumulated 210.6 points while
the Sea Gulls finished with 196.8 points.
Mary Washington won seven conference titles as they captured championships in
women’s soccer, women’s cross country, men’s swimming, women’s
swimming, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, and women’s track
and field. Salisbury finished with eight titles, capturing championships in
men’s soccer, field hockey, men’s cross country, baseball, softball,
men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, and men’s track and field.
Catholic finished third in the standings with 132.6 points and a championship
in men’s basketball. York placed fourth with 126.0 points and St. Mary’s
finished fifth with 98.6 points while Goucher College placed sixth with a total
of 91.1 points. Marymount placed seventh with 61.1 points and a women’s
basketball conference championship. Gallaudet rounded out the eight-team league
with 43.0 points and a women’s volleyball championship.
