2004 All-Capital Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Squad

Salisbury University, the 2004 Capital Athletic Conference women’s lacrosse regular season and tournament champions, placed seven players on the 2004 all-conference squads as the all-league teams were released on Thursday morning.
St. Mary’s Carol Schmoeller was selected as the league’s Player of the Year. St. Mary’s Danielle Miller and Mary Washington’s Stephanie Hearn were named Co-Rookies of the Year as they split the vote for the award. Salisbury head coach Jim Nestor earned his second consecutive Coach of the Year award as selected by his peers.
Salisbury was a perfect 5-0 in the league and defeated St. Mary’s College in the championship game.
St. Mary’s and Mary Washington each placed six players on the two teams while Goucher College had four players earn all-league honors. Catholic had two players selected to the second team while Marymount had one second-team pick.
The CAC had three teams earn at least 11 wins for the season. Salisbury and Goucher each notched 12 wins while St. Mary’s currently has 11 victories. The NCAA tournament selection is slated for this weekend as the CAC hopes to continue to be well represented in the national tournament.
