About Us
Eta Eta Chapter, sponsored by York College of Pennsylvania,
is a local chapter of the
international nursing honor society, Sigma Theta Tau International.
Our Vision:
To create a community of nurses who lead by using scholarship, knowledge and
technology to improve the health of all people.
Our Mission:
To provide and promote leadership and scholarship in practice, education and
research to enhance the health of all people. We support the learning and
professional development of our members who strive to improve patient care.
Our Strategic Plan:
Eta Eta Chapter Executive Board has established a
Strategic Plan to
guide chapter activities and ensure that we fulfill our chapter mission.
The current plan
will take us through 2010. It delineates actions in the core areas of our
nursing honor society: leadership, knowledge, service, communities, and
sustainability.
Our Membership:
Eta Eta Chapter has 245 active members who have met the
membership criteria,
enjoy the
benefits of Sigma Theta Tau International, and accept the
responsibility for nursing leadership, scholarship, and excellence.
Officers:
Eta Eta
leadership consists
of the Executive Board and its committee structure.
The
Executive Board
includes: President, President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and
two
Faculty Counselors.
There are several
committees:
Governance, Leadership Succession, Member Involvement, Archivist, Research,
Awards, and Publicity/Newsletter.
Our History:
Eta Eta Chapter has a rich
history.
It was chartered by York
College in 1983 and has been an active local force in nursing since that time.
